Lawyer / Social Worker
She is currently the Associate Program Director – Prevention of Violence Against Women and children. Her academic background involves a Masters in Social work: Criminology and Correctional Administration (TISS) along with Bachelor of Law (Mumbai University).
A social worker and lawyer by profession her passion lies in working with the marginalised sections of society specifically women and children. She has been associated with multitude of organisations in the field like Asha Sadan rescue Home, Snehasadan, FACSE, Navjeevan, SNEHA, to name a few. Her expertise has been in training government officials’/ other child care functionaries on laws on protection of women and children in India. She has worked with Arpan and UNICEF , Bihar on developing a child protection module for SCERT and Government of Bihar. She is currently engaged as trainer with the Child Protection functionaries in state of Bihar with the State government of Bihar and UNICEF , Bihar.
She has Co- authored a Research on POCSO Act with UNICEF Delhi office and HAQ, Delhi in 2017.
She is the co founder of Advait Foundation. She has worked on registering and developing programs for the foundation, including setting up a Home for girls rescued from child trafficking and setting up a multi-disciplinary cell in Nair hospital in Mumbai with AAMRAE and UNICEF. She shares her experience in the role of a Visiting Faculty with Department of Criminology and Justice at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
