She is a practicing trauma therapist, trained in EMDR and has her own clinical private practise since 2008. With a background in psychology and journalism and having spent a short stint in the corporate world, she felt better suited in the social development sector. She is an experienced professional having worked in the field of child protection in varied capacities in the last two and a half decades. She started her career as a documentation personnel at Prerana, an NGO working in the red light area of Kamathipura and went on to coordinate activities in the field of child sexual abuse through FACSE, a forum devoted to the cause.
She then did her Master's in Psychology and worked exclusively for the cause of child sexual abuse, through ARPAN, a registered NGO, devoted to the cause. She has conducted several workshops, awareness programs and talks on the burgeoning issue simultaneously managing her private practice. Since 2009, she has focussed on treating clients exclusively, all the while continuing till date, to study, receive overseas consultation and actively participate, study and support through study circles, along with like minded colleagues.
She works with adult sexual abuse survivors, helps heal CPTSD, dissociative disorders, trauma related sexual disorders, substance abuse, depression and mood disorders. She has also worked with sexual offenders in therapy.
She ardently believes suicide is a preventable death and strives through her work to intervene and offer healing and help. She networks actively and is known to be resourceful at whatever she undertakes.
